Hearty Congratulations

Hearty Congratulation Dr. Ravishankar Bhat, Head, Department of Mathematic, for being conferred with Doctoral Degree(Ph.D) from NITK, Surathkal, for thesis titled "A study of Strong(Weak) Domination and Related Concepts in Graphs", prepared under the guidance of Dr. Shyam S Kamath, Dept of Mathematical and Computational Sciences(SACA), NITK, Surathkal.

KVGCE Civil Project has bagged First place in state level project exhibition Srishti-07 held at BEC Bagalkot.

Project title: Design and construction of floating structure

Students involved:
Kushaldas patel
Ashwin H G
Rakesh Lumar
Lokesh B S

Guide: Dr K. E. Prakash
Prof and H O D of civil Engg Department
K.V.G C.E. Sullia

A structure that floats, which is a perfect remedy for flood-stricken areas, the idea is based on much –used, age old Archimedes principle of buoyancy.

The super structure is made up of light weight materials, and the slab is made up of composite materials i.e. fiber glass and polyurethene. The structure is attached to four stainless steel pillars that have been embedded deep underground in a manner that allows it to freely slide up and down. When the area floods, the structure can rise up to a height of 15 feet. The depth height and other criteria to construct these cabins can be adopted to meet different requirements depending on local flood level data. This cabin can be designed to store food, water and medicines during floods .It can be constructed in flood –prone areas.

This project has bagged Ist place in sate level project exhibition Srishti-07 held at BEC Bagalkot.
